Pregnancy affects women in different ways, but some symptoms are fairly common. In the early part of your pregnancy, you might have morning sickness, resulting in nausea and vomiting that can occur at any time during the day or night. This symptom might continue throughout your pregnancy, although it usually only lasts during the first trimester.
As your baby grows, you might experience lower back pain, along with swelling in your ankles and feet. If you’re having pregnancy symptoms, you should discuss them with your doctor at Findlay Women’s Care.
Prenatal care is a crucial part of ensuring that you and your baby have a safe and healthy pregnancy. During your prenatal care visits, your doctor will look for any potential problems that might affect your pregnancy or your baby’s health and development. When your Findlay Women's care doctor finds these problems early, they can address them right away to reduce the risk of problems during labor and delivery.
If you have a pregnancy without any complications, you can expect to see your doctor for prenatal care at the following times:
Keep in mind that you’ll need to come in for more visits if you have any complications during pregnancy, such as gestational diabetes or preeclampsia. Your OB Team at Findlay Women’s Care will let you know how often you’ll need to have prenatal care visits.
During your prenatal visits, your doctor will check your health and make sure your baby is developing healthily by doing the following:
Your doctor will discuss your birth options with you to help you plan your delivery. In general, your options include natural birth, vaginal birth, and vaginal birth after a C-section. Your doctor will take your preferences into consideration, along with your condition to help you choose the safest birth option.
